Switch suitable for direct current operation

The device has an arc driver arrangement provided for creation of a magnetic field, and an arc guidance arrangement for conducting a light arc between closed contacts (10,11) for a light arc control device (32) i.e. deion delete chamber. The arc guidance arrangement is divided into light arc routes (22, 23) for conducting the arc between the contacts. One of the arc routes is provided in a current direction and another arc route is provided in another current direction opposite to the former current direction. The latter arc route causes reversal of the arc and/or current.
