<p>PURPOSE: A digital signature verifying device for digital data and a method thereof are provided to successfully verify software by successfully verifying a software signature with one authentication key. CONSTITUTION: A PUAK memory(105) stores a first authentication key and a second memory(106) stores digital data. A digital data device(100) includes a second stage authentication key for authenticating a booting code or digital data. A security processor(103) receives a digital signature and the digital data during the reset or operation start of the device and processes the digital signature with the first verification key to verify the digital signature. The PUAK memory stores the second verification key and the security processor processes the digital data with the second authentication key to verify the digital signature.
