PURPOSE: A composition for treating sewage and a method for treating sewage by using the same are provided to have excellent water purification effect. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating sewage includes a microbial culture as an active ingredient. The microbial culture is manufactured by a step of preparing a culture medium for preparing two or more of lactic acid, photosynthetic bacteria, and yeast; a step of cultivating two or more microorganism of the lactic acid, photosynthetic bacteria, and/or yeast, in the culture medium; and a step of adding a collagen particle during the step preparing the culture medium. The photosynthetic bacteria is Rhodopseudomonas sp., the lactic acid is Lactobacillus sp., and the yeast is Saccharomyces yeast.
