PURPOSE: A latch needle with an improved latch bearing is provided to have a slot at the center of shank or ensure eccentricity, and to have side walls with same thickness or different thickness. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a latch bearing (16) of a latch needle (10) comprises: a step of providing needle main body with a slot which has a boundary by two side walls (23,24); a step of forming two bearing openings which are arranged; a step of providing a latch of which cross section is different from the cross section of bearing openings (25,26); a step of setting the position of one end portion of the latch in the slot; a step of inserting a pin (27) into the hole of the latch; and a step of upsetting the pin and generating cylindrical bearing heads (29,30).
