Method and system for optical distance measurement between at least two objects

The method involves transmitting two sets of optically-transmitting signals from two objects, respectively. Two sets of optical reflection signals received from one of the objects are reflected from the other object. One of the optically-transmitting signal sets and one of the reflection signals sets are evaluated for distance measurement. The sets of optically-transmitting signals are amplitude modulated and phase-shifted. The reflection signals sets are mixed with the amplitude-modulated signals, where the mixed signals are phase-shifted.
