PURPOSE: A navigation device for providing a plurality of routes and a method thereof are provided to select a proper route according to the determination of a user even though some roads are not reflected to a map of the navigation device, thereby preventing the irrationality of route guidance influenced by whether the map is updated or not. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device(100) for providing a plurality of routes comprises a route searching unit(160), a route buffering unit(170), and a route guide unit(180). The route searching unit searches candidate routes to an input destination from a current location. The route buffering unit temporarily records the candidate routes searched by the route searching unit. The route guide unit provides the candidate routes temporarily recorded in the route buffering unit to a user and selects one of the routes, thereby providing the selected route for route guidance. The route guide unit provides the candidate route coincided with the current travelling of a vehicle selected by the route buffering unit for the route guidance without re-searching.
