PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling the vertical position of an edge dam is provided to precisely control the vertical position of the edge dam by controlling a vertical cylinder based on dynamic gain calculated by reflecting gain in a previous step. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling the vertical position of an edge dam comprises a position measuring module(30), a dynamic gain calculating module(60), and a control module(40). The position measuring module measures the vertical position of the edge dam. The dynamic gain calculating module calculates dynamic gain from a reference signal and the vertical position of the edge dam. The control module controls the vertical position of the edge dam based on the calculated dynamic gain.
