An electrocatalyst comprises a catalytic active species and an electroconductive support. The electroconductive support is multi-component support material containing inorganic oxide (1) having specific surface area of 50-400 m 2>/g and conductive oxide (2). An independent claim is included for manufacture of electrocatalyst.
