PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron-based powdery mixture for powder metallurgy suitable for use in a powder metallurgy technology (hereinafter referred to as the iron-based powder mixture for powder metallurgy), which can achieve both improvement of fluidity of the iron-based powdery mixture and reduction of an extracting force of a compact and can achieve improvement for productivity in molding and sintering steps and high yield of the compact and a sintered body by an inexpensive means. SOLUTION: The iron-based powdery mixture for powder metallurgy is produced by mixing an iron powder with a metal carbonate porous particle containing a lubricant, wherein the metal carbonate porous particle is an aggregate of primary particulates.
