[Class 120 (i)] A sliver guide of the type comprising a trumpetshaped body pierced by an orifice of constricted cross-sectional shape has, adjacent the exit of said orifice, a pair of spaced surfaces between which the sliver is guided. As shown, the guide member 12 having an apertured lug 14 and a central orifice 15 which is so constricted that its throat 20 is of oblong cross sectional shape with inwardly extending swells 16, is provided with flanking portions or cheeks 17, 17, which are spaced apart at a distance equal to the width of the throat 20 and are tapered in the direction of the nip of the feed rollers 1 and 2 as indicated at 18, 18.
