<p>The device (1) has a deformable elongate material strip (2) i.e. material rod, embedded in a rope (3), and a deformation device cooperating with the material strip. The material strip is deformable by linear application of traction force on the rope along its longitudinal axis (L) by the deformation device. The deformation device has a deformation element (5) e.g. fixed bolts and rotatable rollers, positioned in a selectable distance to each other and define a linear deformation gap. The deformation device has two spaced holding elements (8, 9) at which ends of the deformation elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for energy dissipation in a rope.</p> |
