<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing the deformation of hot rolled coils is provided to prevent the hot rolled coils from being dented by the weight of the hot rolled coils, by supporting the top of the hot rolled coils with a magnet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing the deformation of hot rolled coils comprises a coil cover(100), a width adjusting part(200), a pair of supporting bars(300), a power supplying part, and a control part. The coil cover partially surrounds part of a hot rolled coil wound in order to form a hollow part. The width adjusting part is installed in the coil cover, and axially controls the width of the hot rolled coil. The pair of support bars is connected to the width adjusting part, and selectively grips or releases both sides of the hot rolled coil depending on a motion for adjusting the width. The power supplying part magnetizes each supporting bar by supplying current so that the supporting bars can be attached to both sides of the hot rolled coil. The control part controls the operation of the power supplying part and the width adjusting part.
