A method for predicting the development of the false joint in the patients with hyperhomocysteinemia comprises the clinical examination, X-ray imaging, assay for homocysteine in blood serum, assessment of the intima-media thickness, assessment of endothelium-dependent vasodilation of the brachial artery. When homocysteine content exceeds 15 µmol/L, the thickness of the intima-media complex exceeds , and in the common carotid artery, brachial artery and femoral artery, respectively, and endothelium-dependent vasodilation of the brachial artery is less than 7 %, the development of the false joint is probable. |
