A heat-sensitive recording material includes a paper web with recycled fibers and a heat-sensitive recording layer includes color formers and color acceptors. The amount of recycled fiber contained in the paper web is at least 70 percent by weight, and the heat-sensitive recording layer has, as color acceptor, at least 331/3 percent by weight of N-(p-toluenesulphonyl)-N'-3-(p-toluenesulphonyloxyphenyl)urea in relation to the total content of color acceptors in the heat-sensitive recording layer.
