PURPOSE: A battery charger is provided to extend lifetime of a battery, to prevent degradation of a battery performance for long time, and to accurately measure deterioration degree of a battery after restoration of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A controlling method of a battery charger comprises a step of conducting battery charging up to 90% or more with regard to a battery rated voltage; a step of applying high frequency to the electrode of a battery when the battery voltage is 90% or less; a step of repeating the previous two steps until the time the voltage of the battery is 90% or more; and a step of displaying deterioration state of a battery by calculating discharging time and voltage of the battery.
