PURPOSE: An apparatus for sharing and brokering broadcast content and a method thereof are provided to share and broke IP(Internet Protocol)-based broadcast content, and to convert and deliver the broadcast content in accordance with attribute information of a remote receiving terminal, thereby utilizing functions of an IP-based receiver to the utmost. CONSTITUTION: An IP based receiver(100) receives a broadcast content by an IP base, and provides a broadcast content of at least one channel, which is requested for. A broker unit(120) provides EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information while mediating information between the IP based receiver and a remote receiving terminal(150). A content converter(130) converts the broadcast content based on attribute information of the remote receiving terminal, which is stored in a profile storage unit(140). The remote receiving terminal receives the broadcast content remotely and plays the broadcast content back.
