IMAGING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can efficiently perform JPEG compression coding and generate a natural compression image when an image after image processing is divided into a plurality of blocks without using an external memory and subjected to JPEG compression coding.

SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an image processing part which divides generated image data into a plurality of blocks in a lateral direction and supplies them to a coding part without using a memory part. The image processing part includes: at least one filter part which executes predetermined filter processing to the generated data; and a filter control part which controls the filter processing of the filter part. The filter control part acquires information on the number of vertical pixels of the image data coded by the coding part and executes control to add data in the lowermost line of the generated data to the filter part until the number of the vertical pixels of the image data can be divided by the number of vertical pixels in a unit of coding by the coding part when the number of the vertical pixels of the image data cannot be divided by the number of the vertical pixels in the unit of coding by the coding part.
