摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery maintaining excellent output characteristics, specifically even in a low SOC region and even in-long term use, in addition to high energy density and safety. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery contains: a first active material having an &alpha;-NaFeO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>type crystal structure and comprising a lithium transition metal composite oxide represented by composition formula: Li<SB POS="POST">1+&alpha;</SB>Me<SB POS="POST">1-&alpha;</SB>O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(where, Me represents a transition metal element including Co, Ni and Mn, and &alpha;&ge;0 is satisfied); and a second active material having a discharge potential region baser than that of the first active material, and comprising a phosphoric acid transition metal lithium compound.
