<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain remaining life assessment method and device capable of accurately assessing a remaining life of an insulator of a power receiving and distributing apparatus in real time. <P>SOLUTION: A remaining life assessment method comprises the steps of: providing a power receiving and distributing apparatus with a sensor insulator formed of the same material as that of an insulator of the power receiving and distributing apparatus beforehand; sequentially measuring amounts of two or more types of ions on a surface of the sensor insulator; performing a multivariate analysis of the measured amounts of two types or more of ions; concerning the sensor insulator, obtaining a first correlation that is a correlation between a multivariate analysis result of the amounts of two or more types of ions and surface resistivity beforehand and calculating the surface resistivity of the sensor insulator from the multivariate analysis result; sequentially updating a second correlation that is a correlation between the surface resistivity of the sensor insulator and age of service by using a surface resistivity calculation result; and obtaining, on the basis of the second correlation, a remaining life of the power receiving and distributing apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
