IMAGING APPARATUS, FOCUSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent erroneous focusing or hunting even when panning or tilting occurs during a continuous automatic focusing operation.

SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 20 includes an optical system including a focus lens and picks up an image of a subject. Focus means 21 brings the subject to be picked up by the imaging means 20 into focus by moving the focus lens on the optical axis. Movement detection means 22 detects the movement of the imaging apparatus. When performing a continuous automatic focusing function for continuously performing a focusing operation by the focus means 21 for bringing the subject to be picked up by the imaging means 20 into focus, control means 23 controls at least the movement of the focus means 20 and the position of the focus lens on the basis of whether or not the movement detection means 22 detects the movement of the imaging apparatus.
