<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive tool which is used for preventing rubber at a tip from being deteriorated due to the close contact of the rubber at the tip of a wiper with windshield glass when the wiper is not used with respect to the windshield glass, has a simple structure, and is excellent in handleability, working efficiency, and durability. <P>SOLUTION: A device 7 for preventing the deterioration of windshield wiper rubber includes: a support floating tool 7a; a locking part E connected rotatably to a wiper support 2 at one end of the support floating tool 7a; and a fixing means K arranged at the other end of the support floating tool 7a. When the support floating tool 7a is closed, the support floating tool 7a is fixed to the wipe support 2 in a non-projected state from the wiper support 2. When the support floating tool 7a is opened, the support floating tool 7a is projected from the wiper support 2, erected and fixed by the fixing means K.
