<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain visibility of an OSD and prevent black floating when the OSD is additionally displayed in a screen in a state in which a video signal of black signal is displayed, while reducing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A black signal determination unit 14 determines whether a video signal is a black signal. A video processing unit 17 receives a display instruction of on-screen display in a liquid crystal panel 19. When determining that the video signal is a black signal and receiving a display instruction of OSD, a light source brightness control unit 15 sets the brightness of a light source to be greater than the brightness of the light source when determining that the video signal is a black signal and not receiving a display instruction of OSD, and smaller than the brightness of the light source when the video signal is a signal other than a black signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
