摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread thickness measuring method which allows accurate measurement of a tread thickness from the surface of a belt located at the outermost position of a tire to the surface of the tread by ultrasonic measurement regardless of a material of the belt. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: an ultrasonic emission process for emitting ultrasonic waves from the side of the tread surface of a tire in tire thickness direction and detecting the reflection intensity of reflection waves with respect to the thickness direction distance from the tire including surface reflection waves and belt reflection waves; a filtering process for filtering the reflection waves; a surface part setting process for extracting a first wave form appearing at the side of the minimum section of the thickness direction distance among the filtered waves form acquired by the filtering process, obtaining a top part where the reflection intensity of the first wave form becomes the largest and setting a top part of the surface reflection waves before filtering corresponding to that top part; and measuring process for measuring a distance between the top part of the surface reflection waves acquired by the surface part setting process and the top part of the belt reflection waves which comes after that top part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
