POSITION MEASURING SYSTEM AND POSITION MEASURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring system and a position measuring method capable of simply and accurately performing position measurement in N-dimensional space.

SOLUTION: The position measuring system for measuring a position to be measured in N-dimensional space includes: a transmitter unit (1) arranged on the position to be measured and capable of transmitting a plurality of signal waves having respectively different propagation velocities; N receiver units (2, 3) arranged on a plurality of receiving positions to receive the plurality of signal waves; and a controller (4) for controlling and acquiring transmitting/receiving timing of signals in respective units. The controller finds out delay time between signal waves in the receiver units and calculates the position to be measured based on the delay time and the receiving positions in the N-dimensional space.
