<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encode the parameters for intra-prediction in an image encoding system for encoding multiple streams. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises: a decoding unit which decodes the MostProbableMode information for the first prediction unit in a first picture, from the encoded stream of a first picture out of two or more pictures associated with a common scene; a first prediction unit which performs intra-prediction for the first prediction unit by using the MostProbableMode information decoded by the decoding unit; and a second prediction unit which performs intra-prediction by using the MostProbableMode information used by the first prediction unit, for the second prediction unit corresponding to the first prediction unit in the second picture out of the two or more pictures. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
