<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for a film capacitor suitable for constituting a compact and lightweight film capacitor having a high withstand voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The film for a film capacitor includes a film laminate formed by laminating a plurality of films containing a thermoplastic resin composition. The film laminate has a total thickness defined by the breakdown strength of a single layer film for a desired dielectric breakdown voltage.
