Oral controlled release double-layered rebamipide-contained formulation using gastro-retentive drug delivery system and process for the preparation thereof

PURPOSE: A rebamipide bilayered tablet using a gastro-retentive drug delivery system is provided to enhance topical absorption of rebamipide and to maintain blood glucose. CONSTITUTION: A controlled-release rebamipid bilayered tablet for oral administration using gastro-retentive drug delivery system comprises a sustained release part and an immediate release part. The sustained release part contains 100 weight parts of rebamipid, 75-320 weight parts of swelling polymers, and 8-15 weight pats of binders. The immediate release part contains rebamipid, excipient, disintegrant, and binders. The sustained release part additionally contains a bubble generator including potassium carbonate, potassium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, citric acid, malic acid, or folic acid.
