<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve determination accuracy of a combustion state in reference to ion current. <P>SOLUTION: After repetitive measurement of a current of an ignition plug at combustion, it is determined that the combustion state in a cylinder is normal on condition that a current value based on the time series exceeds a threshold value. If the current value based on the time series of the measurement values does not exceed the threshold value, whether or not the combustion state in the cylinder is normal or abnormal is determined by referring to at least one of the length of the current value generation period based on the time series, the integral amount of the current value, the current value generation period, and the current value change transition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
