CALIPER BRAKE DEVICE FOR RAILROAD VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a pneumatic caliper brake device.

SOLUTION: A caliper body 2 branched off and formed so that the tip side is positioned on the outside of outer peripheral side both side surfaces of a wheel 3, is installed in a bogie 4 slidably in the axial direction of the wheel 3. An operation lever 9 is arranged for rotating one end side via a connecting link 8 around an eccentric shaft 10 rotatably supported by one of a branched-off parts of the caliper body 2 by protruding-retreating motion of a rod 7a of a pneumatic actuator 7. One brake shoe 12a is slidably installed to an anchor pin 14 installed in the caliper body 2 so as to be freely rotatable on a tip side inner surface of a caliper lever 11 integrally installed in the eccentric part 10a formed on the eccentric shaft 10. The other brake shoe 12b is installed on a tip side inner surface of the other branched-off part of the caliper body 2. The pneumatic actuator can be miniaturized, so as to be replaceable with a hydraulic caliper device without remodeling the bogie side, and abolition of a hydraulic source can be inexpensively achieved.
