PURPOSE: A method for implementing a high definition stereo image and an apparatus thereof are provided to implement the high definition stereo image and maintain an image ratio of the stereo image, by reducing an image loss. CONSTITUTION: A stereo image implementation apparatus generates a reference depth map of an overlapped part of a left image and a right image, and generates at least one additional image through the three-dimensional conversion of an image of one side part corresponding to a part except the overlapped part of the left image or a part except the overlapped part of the right image(S620,S630).
