<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory control device and control method which can monitor errors of data held by a semiconductor memory without inhibiting the operation of the memory. <P>SOLUTION: An error monitoring processing is performed as follows: a block whose errors are to be monitored, out of blocks within a memory, is specified as a block to be monitored; and in response to a read instruction that is supplied so as to read data from the memory, information showing the number of error bits is obtained by performing error detection processing to the block to be monitored that exists within the memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
