<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can efficiently and highly precisely determine a date that is to be set by a manual operation when an energy saving operation is managed by combining learning and the manual operation. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an automatic pattern update section which learns transit time to a power saving mode for each time zone of each day on the basis of a running situation in a past week unit; a first determining section 1078 which receives designation of the date circulating in a month unit and determines whether there is periodicity in the running situation of an image device on the basis of the past running situation corresponding to the date; a second determining section 1082 which determines a schedule candidate of the transit time of the designated date on the basis of the running situation in the past month unit; a second determining section 1086 which compares the candidate with the schedule of the learned transit time and determines whether the number of time zones where both sides differ is a threshold or more; and a notice section 1088 which informs a user of the date as a candidate date of a specified running date when determination is positive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
