<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of changing a toner supply control according to each factor of longevity of a process cartridge, and reducing the frequency of replacement of process cartridges. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes control means which controls a collection of toner in either way of: forming a toner image on a first image carrier 2 for a toner collection by cleaning means 5, and collecting the toner by the cleaning means 5; or forming the toner image on the first image carrier 2, transferring the image from the first image carrier 2 to an intermediate transfer body 10 or a second image carrier as a transfer material conveyance body, returning the toner to a first image carrier 2 of a prescribed process cartridge, different from the previous first image carrier 2, and executing a toner collection by the cleaning means 5. The control means controls a process cartridge which forms the toner image for collection by the cleaning means 5 on the first image carrier 2 according to longevity information acquired by process cartridge longevity detection means 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
