<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a pressurizing force based on the temperature gradient of a heating roller to a nip part of a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus comprising: a heating roller 100 having a heater 103; a thermistor 105 for detecting a temperature of the heating roller 100; a pressure roller 106 which abuts on the heating roller 100 to form a nip part; a pressure motor 6 for changing a pressure applied to the heating roller 100 by the pressure roller 106; and a CPU 111 for controlling the pressure motor. When starting the image forming apparatus, CPU 111 calculates a correction value of a pressure applied to the heating roller 100 by the pressure roller 106, on the basis of a predetermined pressure applied to the heating roller 100 by the pressure roller 106 by controlling the pressure motor 6 and a pressure applied to the heating roller 100 by the pressure roller 106 calculated on the basis of the temperature gradient of the heating roller 100 calculated from a temperature detected by the thermistor 105 (S215 and 216). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
