<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire type window regulator which causes no backlash of a glass pane even for variation in slide resistance between the glass pane and a glass run, allowing a bias member having low durability to be used. <P>SOLUTION: A wire type window regulator includes a carrier plate, a drive part, an ascending-side wire, and a descending-side wire. An ascending-side wire end is compressed when the carrier plate ascends, and is connected to the carrier plate through an ascending-side bias member which stretches to impart a predetermined tension to the ascending-side wire when the carrier plate descends. A descending-side wire end stretches to impart a predetermined tension to the descending-side wire when the carrier plate ascends, and is connected to the carrier plate through a descending-side bias member which is compressed when the carrier plate descends.
