<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of making characters easy to see by reducing thinning-out of pixels of OSD image data during correction of trapezoidal distortion caused when performing tilt-and-shift projection of the projector, and a method for controlling a projector. <P>SOLUTION: In a projector 1 including image projection means 10, first trapezoidal distortion correction means 41 for correcting a trapezoidal distortion of input image data, and second trapezoidal distortion correction means 42 for correcting a trapezoidal distortion of OSD image data, the second trapezoidal distortion correction means 42 arranges the OSD image data so as to be placed within a projection area of corrected input image data, and further reduces the OSD image data only in one direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
