<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan case made of a composite material, the fan case that can be made thin and can be reduced in weight by improving orientation of fibers while taking collision of a fan blade scattered upon FBO into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: A fan case 4 includes a case body 41 formed in a cylindrical shape and for housing a rotating fan 2 thereinto, wherein the case body 41 has a plurality of fibers r1 oriented in parallel so as to surround the fan 2, and the orientation of the fibers r1 is set in an angle (desirably in the range of 90±30°) when intersecting a projection line L made by projecting the top end 22 of a blade 21 of the fan 2 onto the inner circumferential surface of the case body 41. According to the fan case 4, a shock when the top end 22 of the blade 21 scattered upon the FBO comes into collision with the inner circumferential surface of the case body 41 can be efficiently absorbed by the fibers r1, and all of keeping scattered blades 21 in the case body 41, thinning plate thickness of the case body 41 and reducing weight of the case body 41 can be achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
