摘要 PURPOSE: A method for cutting an electrode of a secondary battery using a laser is provided to cut a metal sheet by a laser beam minimizing generation of burrs and dust, and cut the metal sheet continuously without an acceleration/deceleration section by interlocking a beam deflecting unit with a conveying unit, thereby reducing the cutting time. CONSTITUTION: A method for cutting an electrode of a secondary battery using a laser uses a beam deflecting unit for deflecting a laser beam to the desired position on the metal sheet(10), and a conveying unit for supporting the metal sheet and conveying the metal sheet to an arbitrary position on the plane. A first vector(21) is formed to the opposite direction of the moving direction of the metal sheet. A second vector is formed to the direction which the beam is deflected to by the beam deflecting unit. A third vector is the sum of the first vector and the second vector. One of the first, second, and third vectors is the velocity vector for the laser beam moving along a cut pattern on the metal sheet, and the metal sheet is cut after the cut pattern. The cut pattern includes a first straight line portion(12) which has a length going beyond the working field of the laser beam, and a second straight line portion which has a length within the working field of the laser beam. While cutting the first and second straight line portions, the metal sheet keeps moving by the conveying unit. The velocity vector of the laser beam always includes the first vector.
