<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of measuring blood pressure for improving the degree of accuracy in computing blood pressure. <P>SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic sphygmomanometer 1, a blood pressure estimating part 140 estimates the blood pressure of a subject by using the difference in vessel diameters which is a difference between a first vessel diameter and a second vessel diameter that are measured by a vessel diameter measuring part 110 when a region to be measured is placed at a first position and a second position that are different in the relative height relative to the heart, a correlation formula 821 that sets correlation characteristics between the blood pressure and the vessel diameter of the blood vessel to be measured, and a water head pressure difference based on a difference in a height direction between the first position and the second position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
