<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel achieving a reduction in the size by efficiently arranging a driving source for driving a lens in the barrel. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a lens barrel including a fourth lens group holding a fourth lens 401, a second lens group holding a second lens and arranged on the subject side of the fourth lens group, and a driving source 404 for driving the fourth lens group in a direction along the optical axis.
