PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance inducer for plants which improves resistance of plants to diseases and decreases growth inhibition, methods of inducing resistance of plants using the resistance inducer for plants, and prevention methods for plant disease using the methods of inducing resistance of plants.

SOLUTION: The resistance inducer for plants includes a compound shown by general formula (C) or a salt thereof as active ingredient. In the formula, X1shows a halogen.
