<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface precrack applying method and a surface precrack applying apparatus capable of easily introducing surface precrack into a metal material. <P>SOLUTION: The surface precrack applying apparatus includes: a constant temperature and humidity chamber 2; a frame body 8 arranged in the constant temperature and humidity chamber 2 to support both ends of an upper surface of a test piece 9; and load means abutted on the center of a lower surface of the test piece 9 to generate upward pressing force. The surface precrack applying method includes the steps of: generating tensile stress on the test piece 9 in the constant temperature and humidity chamber 2; dropping a salt droplet 14 into a portion on which maximum tensile stress is generated; and storing the test piece 9 in the constant temperature and humidity chamber 2 at a set temperature and a set relative humidity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
