<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor which sufficiently ensures heat radiation performance and inhibits the transmission of vibrations, and to provide an electric power conversion apparatus including the reactor. <P>SOLUTION: A reactor 1 includes: a coil 21; a core 22; and a case 3 housing the coil 21 and the core 22 therein. The case 3 has a bottom part 31 located at the one side in a winding axial direction of the coil 21 and a cylindrical side wall part 32 erected from the bottom part 31 and opens at the other side in the winding axial direction X. In the side wall part 32 of the case 3, a protruding part 34, protruding outward from the side wall part 32, and a protruding fixing part 33, extending from the protruding part 34 and having a fixed part 35 fixed to a fixed object 4 of the case 3, are provided. The protruding part 34 of the protruding fixing part 33 is disposed at the outer side of both end surfaces 211, 212 in the winding axial direction X of the coil 21.
