<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and accurately detect an abnormal condition of a secondary battery which has been powered after the start of a current breaker. <P>SOLUTION: A power storage system to be mounted on a vehicle includes: a power storage device formed by connecting in series a plurality of power storage elements having a current breaker to shut off a current path; and a controller that determines an abnormal condition of the power storage elements which has been powered after the start of the current breaker. The controller operates with power from the power storage device when a temperature difference between the power storage elements is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, varies power consumption of a power consuming unit connected via a DC/DC converter, calculates resistance of the power storage element showing an amount of change in voltage with respect to an amount of change in current, on the basis of a voltage detected by a voltage sensor and a current detected by a current sensor as the power consumption varies, and determines an abnormal condition of the power storage element when the calculated resistance is higher than a threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
