<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a degree of freedom in layout of an instrument panel and to achieve suppression of a weight increase and high rigidity and high strength. <P>SOLUTION: A steering hanger beam structure for a vehicle is configured to be arranged at the back of a dashboard 15 of the vehicle 10 and to extend between right and left front pillars 17, 17. The structure includes: a first beam 21 extending from one of the right and left front pillars 17 to the vehicle width center side; and a second beam 22 extending from the other of the right and left front pillars 17 to the vehicle width center side and whose extending end 95 is disposed at a position offset in the front and rear direction or in the vertical direction with respect to the first beam 21. At least one beam 21 of the first and second beams 21, 22 is formed of a pipe-shaped member and includes an expanded diameter part 92 in which the pipe diameter is expanded compared with a general part 91.
