<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical fiber end structure facilitating an insertion of tip ends of a plurality of single-core optical fibers into a ferrule hole. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an optical fiber end structure 1A for optically coupling a multi-core optical fiber with a plurality of single-core optical fibers 12 mutually includes an end aggregation step of bundling the ends of the plurality of single-core optical fibers 12 into an optical fiber bundle 10, interposing liquid in clearances between the plurality of single-core optical fibers 12, and aggregating the ends of the plurality of single-core optical fibers 12 by surface tension of the liquid; an insertion step of inserting the optical fiber bundle 10 into an optical fiber insertion hole 22 of a ferrule 20; and a fixation step of pouring an adhesive 25 in the optical fiber insertion hole 22 and fixing the optical fiber bundle 10 in the optical fiber insertion hole 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
