PURPOSE: A motion action analysis apparatus and a motion action analysis method using an external detection device are provided to improve a swing motion action by enabling a user to practice and check the swing motion action without an instructor. CONSTITUTION: A motion action analysis apparatus includes: a storage unit(230) saving standard data including physical numeric information for a standard motion action; a receiving unit(250) receiving practice motion action information detected by a detection device attached to a motion tool which accompanies a swing, when a practice motion action is conducted by a user; a calculating unit(270) comparing practice data including physical numeric information obtained from the practice motion action information, and the standard data; and a display unit(290) displaying comparison information of the practice data and the standard data.
