The method involves allowing an equipment (10) to communicate with a set of equipments (50, 51) via packet communication networks. A monitoring device (15) is utilized for monitoring a set of values associated with a temporal interval by transmission of a set of messages towards the set of equipments. A relative threshold value is determined for approximation of a distribution function. The relative threshold value is allowed to be lower than another relative threshold value that is representative of quality of nominal experience of the equipment in the temporal interval. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for monitoring a quality of experience of an equipment (2) a program comprising instructions for performing the method for monitoring a quality of experience of an equipment (3) a recording medium with instructions for performing the method for monitoring a quality of experience of the equipment.
