<p>PURPOSE: A device discovery operating method in a wireless system and a device thereof are provided to reduce a current consumption by converting a current state into a listening state. CONSTITUTION: A control unit of a Wi-Fi P2P(Peer to Peer) device periodically searches opponent devices(501). When an optimal device is searched, the control unit stops a periodical search process and converts the process into a periodic listening process(503,505). When there is no connection request of an opponent device within threshold time, the state of the control unit is converted into the periodic search(507,509).
