PURPOSE: A fault location system, a fault locator for a DC power line, and an operation method thereof are provided to quickly and correctly detect and locate a fault point and help various task parts in recognizing a fault, thereby enabling a quick reaction to a situation. CONSTITUTION: A fault location system(10) comprises two or more substations(100), two or more current monitoring devices(200), a network(300), a DC fault locator(400), and client terminals(500). The current monitoring devices monitor the state of current in each substation, generate and provide current surveillance information when a fault occurs. The DC fault locator is connected to the current monitors through the network, performs a fault location of an electric power substation in which a fault occurs based on the current surveillance information, and provides the performance result.
